While browsing in Barnes & Noble on Saturday, I happened to notice this:

Normally, I’d make a big thing about how someone could write a business start-up guide specifically for ”girls” and how exactly that guide could be any different than that written for general audiences (which, last time I checked, included women… or girls, if you will). I’d also point out that the title is grammatically incorrect and then get really snarky and say that that if you’re going to put two business girls on the cover, they could at least be a little more stylish.
But I don’t have time to build all that out.
Instead, I just want to remind everyone that it is, in fact, 2009 and I think everyone should just get on board with that.

Aw. Mousesnaps is in the cutest blog yet. It makes sense since they’re the cutest mousetraps out there.

Check out www.mousesnaps.com for more on hand-painted mousetraps.
This past weekend, my mother – having noticed that I didn’t update my blog in several days – asked me if I began writing in a “secret blog” that she didn’t know about.
Fortunately, there’s no blogging conspiracy here at mytwothousandnine. I’ve just been sort of lazy about some things – like digging out an extension cord so that I can plug in my router and get Internet access at home. That really puts a damper on writing.
But other things are happening none-the-less. Like with Mousesnaps – Tuesday was a great day and we are thisclose to signing up our first online retailer! It’s unsurprising – Mousesnaps are the prettiest hand-painted mousetraps in town and it’s about time someone appreciates.
And Physical Fitness Rampage 2009 hit new heights last week. Thanks to the contributions of family, friends and coworkers, I reached my fundraising goal for the City to Shore bike race in just two days!
So things are moving right along. And once I get my hands on 20 feet of electrical cord, I will be unstoppble.

You know you made it big when you make the Drexel University newsletter.
I’d like to point out that we are third on a list of what appears to be one million. As such, I’d like to think of Mousesnaps mousetraps as “taking the bronze” in a competition no one else knew we were having.
Stanley Braverman, Esq., ‘82, the President of Braverman Associates, LLC: Next time.
Edit: Someone just pointed out that the entries are listed in alphabetical order. True as that may be, I’m going to disregard the point and continue thinking that our ingenuity and charm sent our hand-painted mousetraps straight to the top. As opposed to the letter “D.”

As most everyone knows by now, I’ve fully immersed myself in the world of mousetraps over the past year or so.
As such, Mousesnaps has developed the following tips to help those of you with mice solve the problem efficiently and with style, of course.
When you have mice:
- Set them where you see them. If you’ve seen mice in your home, set traps in their common pathways. It may seem logical to set traps throughout the room, but doing so is ineffective because mice tend to stay close to their nests and return to known feeding areas.
- More is more. According to experts, the most common trapping mistake is setting too few traps. Believe it or not, a half dozen mousetraps is not too many for a single room. You increase your chances of catching your pests if you set plenty of traps.
- Give them space. It’s common for mice to jump over or run around individually placed mousetraps. Setting traps one inch apart can help disorient your pests and trick them into triggering the trap.
- Hold the cheese. Mice will eat most things, but they especially enjoy bacon bits, slices of hot dogs, peanut butter, crackers and chocolate. They’ll eat cheese, but it’s not their first choice, so save it for yourself.
- Hold the bacon, literally. Mice are pros at sneaking bait off traps. Secure your bait to the trap pedal with tape or ties to prevent mice from snacking on your trappings. When using peanut butter, only add a pea-sized amount to the trap. Using more only increases the mouse’s ability to remove the bait without triggering the mousetrap.
- Keep it clean. Wear disposable gloves when handling mousetraps and be sure to dispose of used traps in sealed plastic bags.
- Keep it cute. Visit www.mousesnaps.com to check out Mousesnaps’ hand-painted, designer mousetraps.

Back in June, when I told my brother that Mousesnaps was featured in Insects in the City blog, he helpfully pointed out that most of the posts on that site don’t have any comments.
True as that may be, it was a pretty unnecessary thing to say.
But today, when I happened to visit the site again, I noticed that our little Mousesnaps post had 3 comments – and to the best of my knowledge, my mother is not responsible for any of them. And perhaps more importantly, all three seem to be in favor of our hand-painted designer mousetraps.
Tomorrow morning, I plan on updating my brother on this situation. And while I’m at it, I’ll also let him know that Mousesnaps is also going to be featured in an upcoming post on The Abundant Artist.
Maybe he’ll appreciate. Or at the very least, maybe he’ll keep his comments to himself this time around.

Mousesnaps was very excited to learn this weekend that we made the cut for the August print edition of Pest Control Technology!!!
What that means for us is that we’re officially famous.
And what it means for everyone else (who gives a care) is that you have between now and August 1 to find a newsstand that carries PCT.
Mousesnaps: We’re the little hand-painted designer mousetrap that could.
